Birthdays are special times of thanksgiving and fond memories. Mark, my little one, is so special and beautiful in his own way. He brings us cheer and happiness with his wonderful voice and lovely smile. This birthday as he turns ten, I remember with love, the times of fun we have together. His wit and humor keeps his class in splits, he is sorely missed when he does not attend school for even a day. The darling of his teachers' he knows how to twirl them around his little finger. We as parents never have our say, he is always the best to his teachers. He loves poetry and enjoys the poems that I write. He insisted that I write one for him on his birthday :)
Dear Mark, as you wished here is this little poem from mama to you...
Happy birthday, my little one
Today, you are all of ten,
My angel sweet, with dimples two,
Your smile, has my heart askew !
The songs you sing, all day long,
In that beautiful voice, so strong,
Has me wondering about,
The day you were born!
That struggle for your life we had,
Only you and I will know,
After three days, you my lad,
Came smiling happily home!
Your name I knew, before your birth,
I saw you in my dream,
My precious one, you are worth
It all, my little sunbeam!
Your tall tales and stories wild,
Enchant me my child,
But I’d rather keep my face straight,
Than be your easy bait!
I love the times when you sing to me,
Those operatic songs,
Though I can hardly keep the beat,
I have to fight conceit!
Mark, you are so precious,
In manner, so gracious,
You will always be my darling child,
So tender, sweet and mild!
I want you to know,
God’s love in you flows,
You are His precious gift to me,
And that is how you’ll always be!!

Sofs, I was browsing through your hubs today and saw that I am late in wishing both your kids on their birthdays. Happy belated Birthday, Kevin and Mark! Awww, that is so sweet! Hey, Sofs-maybe he will be an entertainer, especially if he loves to sing? Oh, oh...the next music idol?LOL
Maybe with your blessings...He is now getting ready to sing in the Paul Wilbur concert ( a Gospel singer) He is visiting India in July and Mark auditioned for it and was selected and has been training for it seriously in the last few weeks. :) As long as he is happy doing what he does, it is good enough :) He is all puffed up when he read what you had to say :) Thanks Denise I guess you have made him happy :)
