Photos of Flowers - Beautiful and Bright
85Beautiful flowers - to brighten your day!
Ever since I saw some photo hubs of some beautiful flowers and flower gardens, I wanted to have one of my own. Not that I am a great photographer, I have never held a camera in my hands for a serious picture before. But nature with her beautiful array of flowers can make the most challenged the most inspired. Here I went click happy and got some of my favorite flowers on camera for you. I may not have done justice to them but I am certainly learning how to approach a subject and how to capture it for posterity. But this exercise has helped me develop a hobby and reduce the stress of everyday life.
I was certainly inspired to get the beautiful flowers for you on camera, I hope you enjoy the these flower pics as much as I did. Go on take a breath of fresh air.
Poppies are delicate and etherial looking flowers, I have always loved poppies. When they dance in the light breeze it is so inviting and refreshing, it is an out of the world moment for me. If there is one flower that I would like to grow in my garden it would be poppies. I have never tried I should confess, but i am sure this spring will see Poppies in my balcony!
Beautiful Flowers to brighten up your garden
Petunia grandiflora, an easy way to make your garden colorful and bright. They can make any dull looking garden (or if you live in an apartment, like me, your window sill) something to look at. I love these flowers on my window sills, they just brighten up my view and my day. The variety of colors they come in is what makes them a feast for our eyes, and for city dwellers like me it is a fantasy come true!
Beauty and the moth
I was glad to get this shot, a moth on Marigold. The brightness of the flower contrasted by the dull grey of the moth, the bright yellow marking on the wings, highlights and accentuates the composition. This photograph is one of my favorites.
Marigolds are so common here, but that does not make them less beautiful. these hybrid marigolds come in so many different shades that they you can grade them from shades of sunny yellow, to orange, to russet and deep burgundy. These are hardy plants that you can grow them all through the year from the dried flower heads.
A Beautiful flower - never fails to attract
I was not the only one attracted by this bright and beautiful Cosmos and I caught the thief on camera. It is moments like this that I savor in my minds eye and they keep me going through dull days. These flowers are easy to grow and you can keep growing them all through year. They come in different hues and though they look delicate they are hardy but need a lot of sunshine. After the flower heads have died off, and the petals fall, you should wait until the exposed seeds have dried before picking them, to save for planting later.
The Hong Kong Orchid tree dots the road of Bangalore, but they usually have pink flowers and look pretty in summer, I was happy to see a tree bearing red flower much early in the season.
The Birds of Paradise plant is related to the Banana plant, it is an exotic plant but hardy in nature. This needs a lot of sunshine, there are different varieties which includes the crane plant. The flowers resemble birds and hang down beautiful from the plant. It is usually red and green but this hybrid beauty here is red and pink. This again is one of my favorites for flower arrangements.
This Velvet Phalaenopsis Orchid in Burgundy, is an exotic beauty that I was able to catch early in this season. Contrasted with white orchid this makes for a beautiful flower arrangement. I love orchids as a whole but this one here took my breath away.
As far as my eyes could see...........there was just beauty all around
When all at once I saw a crowd,
A host of golden daffodils;
Beside the lake, beneath the trees,
Fluttering and dancing in the breeze.
Continuous as the stars that shine
They stretched in never-ending line
along the margin of a bay:
Ten thousand saw I at a glance,
tossing their heads in sprightly dance.
and twinkle on the Milky Way,
By William Wordsworth
They are not daffodils... they are a golden field of Cosmos but I am reminded!
Yellow and orange cloud, soft delicate flowers in abundance.
Purple haze ... simply beautiful flowers
I had to get my son to climb up high enough to get a picture of this climber. A beauty from Brazil, commonly called the queen's wreath. This vine is coverd with bunches or purple flowers in spring, the whole scene looks like a purple cloud, so beautiful that you can watch them all day!
The hollyhocks are biennials or short-lived perennials. They grow up to a height of four feet . They have numerous flowers in different colors central stem. They look majestic and beautiful and could make any gardener proud. Amazingly beautiful!
I hope you enjoyed them enough to have some of your own, in your garden if not in pots in your balcony!!

Wow!! The way you put it together is wonderful. Keep it up. But do give me some of the credit for having taken the camera out from the cover, having wiped the lens, etc.
Great work!
Very good photos.I liked the angles with which the photographs are taken...
Hey sofs. This is a fabulous first step at a photo hub. You seem to have captured nature at it's colourful peak in each case. I particularly liked the bird of paradise..something that's not easy to grow here in Canada. The orchids are also beautiful. Nice going.
p.s. Thanks for the link to my hub.
The flowers are so beautiful. I can't hardly wait for spring. I always have lot's of flowers, Thank you.
Cheers
Beautiful hub indeed! Love your photos of your flowers. They remind me of the flowers markets in Hong Kong especially at the time of the Chinese New Year when some of the parks in the former British territory have large wonderful and very colourful flower displays. Everyone also goes to buy new plants to adorn their homes for an auspicious start to the year ahead. It's a wonderful time to be in China or Hong Kong or anywhere where the Chinese New Year is being celebrated.
Thanks for sharing your wonderful thoughts on flowers. They certainly added some colour to my day!

Nice photos. My favorite is the one of poppies at the top. Poppies were my favorite flower for many years, but where I lived at the time I would only ever see very small ones. This brought back some nice memories.
