To love - Unconditional love (a poem)
67Unconditional love - Poems of love
To love is divine, and to love unconditionally is Godly, eternal. Love is neither a contract nor a lease, you never fall into love or out of it. Love does not have and end clause. Once you love someone for who he/she is, you have opened yourself to function in complete faith and trust towards another human being. Unconditional love is a selfless quality. Loves is a wonderful act of giving, it is not an emotion. Love is patient, love is kind and does not insist on its own point of view, it forgives and forgets. Such is the amazing quality of unconditional love. Love is the only weapon we need to posses as humans. This is the only quality that will create and not destroy. Love always wants the best for the other person. Some how, love never seems to be understood..because love as we know it today is no love at all.
Unconditional love is to give of oneself without expectation. The Bible in 1Corinthians chapter 13 deals with this aspect of love that has inspired and fascinated me over and over again. My spiritual guru of a long time, taught me that you need to become dead to the flesh, to love. Amazing truth that doesn't cease to fascinate me. The love that we speak of today is so fleshly, and it may not make sense to those you do not know about dying to the flesh.
Love is a spiritual act of giving, you give of your spirit/ soul to someone. It is when we expect them to return the favor, that the flesh enters the deal. A tough spiritual practice, but it is worth learning it. Somehow we as humans always expect something in return. The Book/The Bible teaches us that the purest form of love is to love unto death, to love until death do us part, or love until it hurts. A difficult proposition, but an invaluable lesson for sure. Once you die to the flesh, nothing really matters. You would go on loving irrespective of what the other person thinks or does.
In Eastern philosophy love is often equated to a candle that goes on giving light until it is totally spent. These concepts may sound like utter foolishness to those who do not believe in them. I haven’t mastered any of these yet, I would be a liar if I pretended to.. but I am a faithful student, trying hard to put to practise what I learn.
To love - Unconditional Love
Love is patient,
Love is kind,
Taught ‘The Book’,
When I, was still a child!
I learnt not the lesson,
For a while then,
Until I had to teach my son,
Today I know the Truth!
What foolishness is it to love,
To wash the feet and to bow,
But my Master taught me,
A lesson free, to walk in humility!
They spat on His face,
And jeered at Him,
He accepted with grace,
Their every whim!
Who am I to rebel?
To scream and raise a hell,
Who am I that I should rant?
And reject the grace the Master grants!!
Who am I to battle on?
No Goliath, mighty and strong,
Just like shepherd David was
Here I am at the cross!
The little pebbles,
Are all I have,
To face the troubles.
That come along.
I fear not,
I tear not,
I smile, I laugh all day long,
My Joy is mine you can’t it take away,
With anything you throw my way!!
Who am I ? - Casting crowns

What a great poem and video. Thanks! :-)
It is well-written for sure, lots of energy and a very personal statement. You may want to get rid of that redundant space in the title.
Sofs, some hearts - believe it or not - are far more interesting than others. Yours is one of boundless love and joy.
